Re: RBPM_DRIVER_INSTALL in IDM 4.5

I've only done it on Linux, but I would expect it's the same.

From the docs, section 30 which is currently page 237 in the PDF version:

<quote>
This section helps you prepare to install the identity applications. The
applications run on a
framework called the Roles Based Provisioning Module (RBPM). When you
install the Identity
Manager engine, the installation process automatically installs
netiq-DXMLuad-4.5.0-0.noarch
and netiq-DXMLrrsd-4.5.0-0.noarc RPMs that install the User Application
driver, the Roles and
Resource driver, and extend the eDirectory schema to interact with RBPM.
</quote>

Re: RBPM_DRIVER_INSTALL in IDM 4.5

but the problem is that the RBPM must be installed on the same server
that was installed IDM.

While here in the doc, the following path "products / RBPM /
user_app_install" is to install the user appalication, and I do this
process on another server.

I don't know if you understand me?

Thank you for help.

Re: RBPM_DRIVER_INSTALL in IDM 4.5

To find the documentation page again I just searched on the package name
listed in the quote I pasted and Google found this page:

https://www.netiq.com/documentation/idm45/setup_guide/data/b17x768i.html

There is not, and never has been, and hopefully never will be, any
requirement for RBPM to be on the same box as the IDM engine.

Yes, this can be on any old Linux server of an appropriate version (SLES
11 SP3 for sure).

> I don't know if you understand me?

Perhaps not, but if that's the case please ask again what you are trying
to find out. Regarding your original question, the drivers (shims) should
be installed automatically along with the engine. With that said, there
are known bugs around this in 4.5 so if you do not see the packages
mentioned previously (netiq-DXMLuad-4.5.0-0.noarch and
netiq-DXMLrrsd-4.5.0-0.noarc) then maybe you're hitting those. In that
case, just go to the media, find the appropriately-named RPM, and install
them manually.

Re: RBPM_DRIVER_INSTALL in IDM 4.5

Mounting the ISO to /mnt I see the RPMs here:

/mnt/products/IDM/linux/setup/packages/netiq-DXMLuad-4.5.0-0.noarch.rpm
/mnt/products/IDM/linux/setup/packages/netiq-DXMLrrsd-4.5.0-0.noarch.rpm

Re: RBPM_DRIVER_INSTALL in IDM 4.5

Yes, but I used .ISO for windows and I can not find the two files, I'll
see if there is a version problem.

THanks

Re: RBPM_DRIVER_INSTALL in IDM 4.5

Ah, well then you will not be using an RPM at all as windows does not
support package management features like that. There is probably a jar
file somewhere on the windows media you can copy over, but having never
setup the IDM 4.x engine on windows I have no idea where exactly.

nrfSometihngOrOther.jar is the RRSD driver.

It is part of most every UA patch as well.
