Reporting Errors relating to Data Collection Driver certs

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue before? I've
installed the IDM 4.02 Reporting module and EAS onto a new development
server but am running into the following error in the JBoss log of the
reporting module:
com.novell.idm.rpt.core.server.service.IDVManagerService:registerIDV]
Error registering the DCS driver with dn: cn=data collection service
driver,cn=driverset1,o=system, Idv address: 192.168.0.1, Reason: Failed
to parse certificate string: []
com.novell.idm.rpt.core.server.spi.exception.DCException:
java.security.cert.CertificateException: Could not parse certificate:
java.io.IOException: DerInputStream.getLength(): lengthTag=127, too
big.

The reporting module errors saying that it there are no Identity Vaults
configured in the system. I have confirmed that both the Data
Collection & Managed System Gateway drivers are running ok with the
correct passwords etc and have no errors appearing in the trace files.
The certificate error is confusing me as at this stage I have configured
it all without SSL just to get things up and running initially.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Greetings Andrew,

1) The "no Identity Vaults configured in the system" is happening
because the DCS driver is not able register. You should see if you set
the DCS Driver to log a 5 and restart it.

2.a) Are you requiring http or https communication between DCS Driver
and the Reporting Module? If yes, did you install the certificate that
JBoss is using for https into the cacerts file of the jre that the IDM
Engine is running with and restart?

2.b) What port are you using for https?

2.c) What is the exact version of the Reporting Module (login and look
at the footer)?

3) Are you requiring SSL communication between the Reporting Module and
eDirectory? If yes, did you install the eDirectory certificate into the
cacerts file of the jre that JBoss is running on and restart?

Re: Reporting Errors relating to Data Collection Driver certs

Thanks Steven - not sure exactly what fixed it but after bumping up the
trace to 5 on the DCS driver and restarting the driver its all working
now (using non-SSL in DEV for the moment), there must have been some
configuration changes I'd made that hadn't yet stuck.

I haven't patched up the environment yet so the version footer is
"Novell Identity Reporting Module version 4.0.2 was built on Friday, May
25, 2012 from revision 4314."

Andrew.
