Try Aquamarine, Jade, Garnet and Citrine?

Hello,

I don't know where to post this, so it ended up here.

Aquamarine, Jade, Garnet and Citrine should be out early this year. I
found the Citrine app on appstore and have been playing around with it.
It's pretty nice. Still some bugs and such, but pretty nice. The other
three products are no where to be found though. Are they not available
yet? Can I try them out somehow? Just to get a feel of how they work and
the possibilities they provide.

Jacob.

None of these other Enhancement packs are available yet, although I
believe Aquamarine will be available (in some form) within a short
timeframe.

Although I wasn't at Brainshare, I believe the rough timeframe they
indicated there was before the end of 2013 for all the enhancement packs.

There's an aquamarine deom at
https://secure-www.novell.com/demosystems/emea/index.html#demos (Look in the
EMEA or Americas "Other" category")

Weird, I downloaded the zip of IDM 402 docs and it has a doc on
homepage, which seems to be aquamarine install guide.

Due to the fact that documentation is up already, One would hope that
this means the actual extension pack will ship any day now.

I'm actually unsure about this as the documented product requirements
for Home Page (née Aquamarine) are only.

Identity Manager 4.0.2 Engine & Remote Loader Patch 2

Which has already been released.

My gut-instinct regarding the 4.0.2.3 engine update is that it might be
required for one of the other Enhancement packs. Otherwise, why all the
effort?

My guess is that one of the other features in 4.0.2.3 (per the public
AU3 readme) is the Start/Stop policy sets. So my guess is that one of
the projects want to use that.

Jade is the one that makes sense, since Citrine (iOS Approvals app)
probably could care less. Aquamarine (IDM Homepage) is basically all
User App front end, so UA update sure, engine, probably who cares.

Garnet is the RMA/Roles Catalog redo for better scaling, management
which is again mostly a UA thing.

But Jade is the most likely to need the new policy sets.

Go look at the install steps... That is a lot of manual work, copying,
editing, etc.. I am surprised by it...

Also, I see we need a new User App driver package:
NOVLUABASE_3.0.0.20130619121722.jar

That is not out yet.

And on this page:
https://www.netiq.com/documentation/idm402/idmhomepage/data/b1618pop.html

There is a line:
For example, rather than having the User Application, Home Page,
Dashboard, and Reporting Module all installed on the same application
server, you could install the User Application on Server A, the
Reporting Module on Server B, and the Home Page and Dashboard on Server C.

What is Dashboard? Is that Garnets new name?

Later they call Dashboard, Provisioning Dashboard, which does not make
huge sense. I.e. Why is that a separate module?

This is what I suspected - these were branded as expansion packs for
4.0.2, which I think translates as -

"As promised, you don't need to upgrade the core product to enjoy the
expansion packs - but we never said you wouldn't need to jump through
hoops to get them working with 4.0.2"

I'm sure these features will be fully integrated into the next full IDM
release.

Package channel is easy to push out an update.

True enough.

I am just surprised, they did not update the current installer, to do
the work.

And of course that makes perfect sense. Expect the next rev of the
installer to do it all for us.

I am trying to decide from the docs, if they need yet another database
instance for this, or not. It says you need one, but not clear if that
means for UA in general, or yet another instance for this app.

I know. But they have been pushing latest packages (and that one was
clearly built in June) with the AU's lately.

I take that back. The full Designer builds are coming with up to date
packages, not the AU's. My mistake.
