Unable to configure User App

Hello,

My environment is IDM 4.02, running on RHEL6. I have a User Application
running on Windows 2008R2 which quit working recently. After a few
hours of fruitless troubleshooting, I decided to reinstall it from
scratch (it's currently only being used for password changes).

I removed the User App, JBoss and Postgres, then rebooted. I then
reinstalled JBoss and Postgres & ran the User App install. The install
runs normally, but some of the buttons on the configuration screen don't
work -- specifically the User Application Administrator, RBPM Reporting
Administrator, and Security Administrator fields. When I click on them,
nothing happens.

I tried installing the latest UA patch (E) but that doesn't help. Can
anyone offer any clues what I'm missing?

Re: Unable to configure User App

Hello Douglas,

I'd recommend you to check the jboss log first to see if there are any clues there. The default location is "C:\Novell\idm\jboss\server\IDMProv\log\server.log". Also when starting the server with the start-jboss.bat script you can see what is going on in real time.

Let me ask you, are the buttons you mention grayed out or are they clickable links that seem to do nothing? If they are grayed out you may not have the required roles assigned to the account you are using to login.

Also, have you tried clearing up your browser's cache or using another browser? At times if the same IP or hostname where there was another version of UA is used to access the portal some cache files are left behind which could cause strange behaviors.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up completely removing UA and
JBoss, rebooting, then reinstalling. It behaved itself after that.
