Upgrade from IDM 4.0.0 to IDM 4.0.1 in Linux Platform

Hi,

I am planning to upgrade IDM from current version 4.0.0(Linux) to IDM
4.0.1(Linux).

We have many drivers running including Active Directory driver,
Salesforce.com driver, SOAP driver, User App driver (including PRD's),
Roles & Resources driver, edir-to-edir driver etc.

Could you please let me know when upgrading from IDM 4.0.0 to IDM 4.0.1,
is it mandatory to upgrade the drivers to packages?

In the current version of IDM, i use the desginer to manage the drivers
but i do not use the "Package Developer" mode.

Thanks,
mvrk

No, you can leave driver configs as they are and they'll keep on running just
fine.

If they are already package based, you can contemplate a package update,
but you would still have to test as there is not great docs on what
exactly has changed between package versions. The good news there is
that Designer 4.02 with AU2a has a new Compare Package versions feature
which will show you exactly what changed. (It might not make a ton of
sense, but it will show at least).

I think it would be a good idea to organize a group of us to use this
functionality on common drivers and write CS articles for others to use.
Now that Cool Solutions is back...

If that is the case no, Packages are nice, if you start with them. Sort
of hard to get to them from existing configs. You might wish to start
converting to packages slowly as you do work on existing drivers.
