User password as a digital signature for approval

Hi,

We've a customer requirement to implement an approval digital signature
using the user password.
Our idea is to include a password field on a form. When the user push
the approve button, we try to authenticate through LDAP using the
current user and the entered password.

We've been unable to find a correct way to do it as it needs to execute
on the user browser, not on the server.

Any idea? Have anyone implemented something similar?

Regards
Jose Luis
