edir-2-edir wants to connect on wrong port

We  have configured our eDir-2-eDir to use port 9761 on the publisher channel and port 9760 on the subscriber.  however, it seems to want to connect to port 8192 (the default).  This eDir-2-eDir driver is the second on  in the tree.  The other driver is using port 8192, so the port is taken and both drivers are on the same server.  I get this error at the end of the trace:

Address already in use (Bind failed)

I attached the startup trace.  Searching for 8192, you will see the correct port numbers above as described above.

Any idea what is going on here?  Any help would be appreciated.

Re: edir-2-edir wants to connect on wrong port

Hi friedman16,

have you configured the driver(s) in both trees?

Basically, the communication should be as follows:

subscriber tree 1 <> publisher tree 2

publisher tree 1 <> subscriber tree 2

If you must use "different" ports, this can be achieved through a "special" notation in the authentication context, as outlined in the documentation:

https://www.netiq.com/documentation/identity-manager-48-drivers/edirectory/data/driver-configuration.html#authentication

For example: 137.65.134.81:2000:137.65.134.83:2000

Here are other related threads/articles, that deal with the eDir2eDir driver configuration:

Hope this helps!

Philipp
