mail Attribute not specified

Hey guys,

just a quick question:

We have upgraded to GroupWise 2014 SP1 with the IM-Driver. All went
fine. But now we see that the Attribute "mail" is empty. Is there any
possibility to write the actual mailadress from the field *eMailAddress*
to the mail-Attribute? I think i can do this with a Null-Driver.

Some of our projects like moodle use the mail-Attribute, not the
eMailAddress.

thx 4 help

Re: mail Attribute not specified

I think, but have not looked lately, that on an 'add' event the shim
should be sending back a modification of 'Internet EMail Address' (exposed
as 'mail' via LDAP) to keep the directory up to date. Alternatively, you
can, within GW 2014, kick off an update of the linked directory so that GW
2014 lets eDirectory know about the values that should be in 'mail'.

If that is not happening, your next best option is to add policy that
basically does exactly this, perhaps on adds as well as modifies. I'm
still 90% sure this should happen by default, so you may want to post a
level three trace of the full create operation to see if that is being
vetoed somehow, or if I'm insane.

To get things up to date once I'd probably use LDAP. If you cannot get
IDM to do this automatically any other way, then yes a Null driver is an
easy solution.

mail, which is LDAP is mapped to Internet EMail Address in eDir.

eMailAddress is the structured attribute as I recall. If not you could
just change the mapping in the LDAP Group object for this server.
