running a vbs from Linux within a driver ?!

Hello,

I am actually working on an upgrade from Windows 2003 eDirectory
8.7.3.9/IDM 2.01 to SLES 11 eDirectory 8.8.7/IDM 4.0.2

The issue is that Active Directory Driver is calling some vbs code
within the Policies (vbs is located on IDM box )

The customer is not interested by Scripting Driver

Any Ideas on how to call a vbs (may be remotely from an IDM Driver on
Linux )

Regards

Unless there's a VBscript interpreter for Linux, you won't be able to.
You could re-write whatever the VBscript does in to policy, xslt, java,
or javascript.

install an ssh server on the windows box (cygwin may do) and run your vbs from
the linux box via ssh. There was even a coolsolutions article describing a
similar setup some years ago, but I cannot find it right now.

Good luck! Lothar

While that will work (and is likely a more "drop in" substitute for your
existing solution), I think you'd end up with a more reliable or stable
solution if you tweaked your existing code to use this tool instead.

This all depends on how complex your requirements are regarding calling
a VBS from IDM.
