upgrading identity manager 4.0.2 to 4.5

When upgrading netiq identity manager 4.0.2 to 4.5 can we upgrade with 4.0.2 license or we want to purchase a new license for 4.5?

New licenses are required for the engine and the drivers you upgrade.

This is the Designer forum, you will get better responses in the
Engine-drivers forum.

If you paid maintenence on your license then in Customer Center you
should see a license for later IDM releases. (Though I would suggest you
go to IDM 4.7.2 the latest, not 4.5 which is already out of support).

When upgradinf from 4.0.2 to 4.5 to 4.7 we need seperate product license for 4.5 and 4.7 or we just need only upgradation license beacuse we are upgrading from 4.0.2 that version license is with us
can anyoone please suggest?

When you upgrade to a version that requires a new license code, you get the
usual 90 days fully-functional evaluation period again. So unless you remain at
4.5 for more than 3 month, you only need to activate the license for 4.7.

There is only one type of license keys. Log in to
https://www.netiq.com/customercenter/app/software?execution=e3s1 and see if you
can find the ones for "NetIQ Identity Manager 4.7" (there's a "keys" link for
it).

The license code for iDM:
4.0.x
4.5.x
4.6.x
4.7.x

are all different. So yes, you need a new license code.

Talk to your Microfocus sales person. If you have been paying
maintenence on your license, then if you go to Customer Center, the new
licenses should be waiting for you.

Login, software link, and there should be a license icon by the IDM
software.

If it is not there, talk to your sales rep.

Also make sure you are in the NetIQ customer center and not Micro Focus.
You can change this in the customer center top left if needed. This has
caused some confusion before for some customers not being able to find
licenses in customer center.

Don’t forget that in addition to the main engine 4.7 product license, you
may need new licenses for some connectors. Some connectors are bundled in
base 4.7 license, others are not.

Not all of these other connectors licenses are versioned up to 4.7 yet. Be
sure to ask and get the correct ones.

Assuming you are still paid up for maintenance on both engine and
connectors this should be straightforward.
