EVT Corruption

Is there an AUTOMATED way to get a notification if a Windows server (or any server) which has previously sent events suddenly stops for several hours or longer?

Yes, you can use an active list to keep track of the reporting devices, and then if a device drops out of that list (after a pre-determined amount of time based on your active list settings), you can use a Rule to notify you.
