12.50 to 12.55 query (Scripts and scenarios)

Jump to solution

When we are upgrading to v12.55 from 12.50 our end users have a query.

Will all the LR scripts/scenarios  be available in their same domains post the Performance center upgrade?

So we have each project database backed up nightly and we keep our repositorie on a NAS which is cloned to an alternate NAS nightly as well.

Do we need to worry about any other backups to protect our existing project scripts are scenarios?

Hi,

12.55 does not involve database upgrade. You just need to install the new version and start using it.

You should install ALM 12.55, PC Server 12.55 and PC hosts and LGs.

The PC host installation requires uninstall first. Please follow the installation guide.

Let us know if you need any help.

Good luck.

I guess a better questions is, are all of the projects data stored in their repositories and database scehma? We do not need to backup anywhere else?

Cool!

So once I upgrade the components in the order - ALM, PC Server the LG's,

my end users should just be able to log in as normal, see their projects and scripts as before, but obviously now they will be seeing v12.55?

Yes.

Note, we released PC 12.56 recently. It is a patch release on top of 12.55. If you go through this installation effort, maybe you can install 12.56 on top of 12.55. For the hosts and Load Generators you will be able to deploy the patch from Performance Center Admin site.

OK so I upgarded everything to v12.55 - ALM, PC Server and LG's.

When upgrading ALM I had to change td password via sql studio.

Now in Site Admin none of my projects can connect to the databases.

In the SA log file I see:

Can't create a new database connection for url

[Mercury][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed for user 'td'.;

How  do we fix this?

Quick query on moving from 12.55 to 12.56.

I can upgrade the pc servers and hosts via Lab Management.

But before I do that I will also need to upgrade the ALM servers from v12.55 to v12.56? I just do this manually as per ALM upgrade guide?

Hmm, reading further it looks like ALM 12.55 patch 1 works with Performance Center 12.56?

Hi,

  •  12.56 is a patch installation over 12.55. You should deploy it from PC administration on the host and Load Generator machines. PC server patch installer should be run locally/manually on the PC server machines. Note that if the remote patch installations fails on first try it might recover itself on second try.
  • As for ALM, you can either stay with 12.55 or install 12.55 patch 1. if you choose the later you will enjoy from a few more fixes and enhancements in Trending feature

Shlomi
