ALM - PC integration

Jump to solution

Hi,

How can we configure PC and ALM to work together?

- Is it necessary to intall ALM on the same serve prior tp PC? If it is required to install on the same server, can we have the PRD ALM on some other server and connect PC, or the ALM entitiy that is on the same server is the only ALM that can use the PC functionality?

- ALM uses Jetty as default and PC requires IIS to be turned on. How to configure the webservers not to conflict (Ports etc...)

A coulpe of months ago we were struggling to make them connect each other and we gave up finally.

Thank you.

Regards,

Aurél

Hi,

Per the document guide, it means we should install HP ALM first then configure it. When the HP ALM is up, you install PC then add it to the ALM platfom.

Please let me know if you have any further concern.

Hi,

- HP recommend that we should install ALM and PC components (PC Server; PC Host) in different machines. And during the configuration, ALM need to be configured to work with PC.
- If you want to install ALM and PC Server in the same machine, you only need to install IIS on the machine and no need to configure anything. this is the list of ports that PC uses: https://softwaresupport.hp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/KM00398570

Hi,

than this sentence in the PC 12 installation guide - Chapter 2 page 43 means that it should be installed prior, but on an other server?

"As a prerequisite to installing HP ALM Performance Center 12.00 components, you must install HP Application Lifecycle Management 12.00"

page 45:

"Important:

As a prerequisite to installing HP ALM Performance Center, you

must first install HP Application Lifecycle Management. For more

information, see Installing HP Application Lifecycle Management

on page 43.

"

That's why I asked if I have to install it on the same server.

Thanks.
