Can I turn off "Secure Mode" for Load Generators that use an MI Listener?

Jump to solution

Running PC 11.50, with 2 of our Load Generators on Windows 2003 behind a firewall, connected via MI Listener.

We have to periodically update the lrun_api.asl file in the merc_asl directory with the names of blocked functions because the Load Generator is functioning in Secure Mode.  We get errors like:

CCI security error: You are running under secure mode and the function lr_param_sprintf is not allowed in this mode

Is there a way to tell the Load Generator not to run in Secure Mode, so that we do not have to keep updating the exception list every time a new error is generated?

I saw an older forum posting that referred to a startup argument -cancel_secure_mode - is this applicable in PC 11.5?

Thanks,

Aaron

The way you have been doing it is the official way. For 11.5 it might still be aplicable and it would have the same effect as adding functions to the .asl file. This command was conflicting with security settings so it was to be removed.

If you can try it and let us know if it worked.
