Citrix Agent is not detected with VUgen11.04 and Citrix Server 6.5

We are using VUgen11.04 and are able to successfully record application hosted on Citrix Xenapp6.5 using WebClient 12.1.
For script enhancement, we want to install HP Citrix Agent on Citrix Server.

Even after installing Performance Center 11 Citrix Agent on Citrix Xenapp 6.5 Server, we are still getting error "Text Based synchronisation is not available in your environment. It required the installation of the HP Load Runner Citrix Agent on the Citrix server machine" while recording a sync_on_text function. Please find attached screenshot.

Version Details:
HP Performance Center: 11
HP VUgen – 11.04
Citrix Agent: Copied from PC11 bundle (64 bit)
Citrix Server: Citrix XenApp 6.5 Hotfix 2 (Windows 2008 R2 SP1)

Do we need to do anything on the Citrix Server after installing Citrix Agent so that Vugent will recognise the Citrix agent?
Does Citrix Agent from Performance Center 11 is supported on Citrix Server 6.5?

Hello
You dont mention this, so just to clarify, you create your script AFTER install the citrix agent, so vugen can sync with it and enable the required functions.

Re: Citrix Agent is not detected with VUgen11.04 and Citrix Server 6.5

Hello Editus,

 Thank you for your reply.

I had tried recording a new scripts and tried to use InsertSync on Text feature, but I got the pop-up "Text Based synchronisation is not available in your environment. It required the installation of the HP Load Runner Citrix Agent on the Citrix server machine."

Citrix Admin confirmed that Citrix Agent 11 is installed on Citrix Server 6.5.

Do we need to do anything on the Citrix Server after installing Citrix Agent so that Vugent will recognise the Citrix agent?

We are experiencing the exact same issue.  The citrix agent is installed but doesn't appear in the task manager when trying to script with VuGen.

Ok then start the agent or simply restart the server, agent will come up.

Re: Citrix Agent is not detected with VUgen11.04 and Citrix Server 6.5

It was my understanding that the agent is launched when the script is run with LR.  When we try to launch the agent EXE manually on the citrix server, it appears briefly in the Task Manager and then goes away.  Then we get the error message indicated previously.

How exactly do you start the agent?

Re: Citrix Agent is not detected with VUgen11.04 and Citrix Server 6.5

But We are able to successfully record application hosted on Citrix XenApp6.5  with VUgen11.04 and Citrix WebClient 12.1.
For script enhancement, we wanted to install HP Citrix Agent on Citrix Server.

So the Citrix Agent (bundled in HP Performance Center 11) installation was successful on Citrix XenApp6.5 server, but when Citrix Server restarted, it started throwing error.

Re: Citrix Agent is not detected with VUgen11.04 and Citrix Server 6.5

yes, but still is not supported, so no we dont really know if itwill work or not, but HP doesnt guarantee it will.

Check the basic stuff on citrix server, DEP, UAC, Antivirus; those things will cause problems to the citrix agent, maybe this is the cause and is not related to supportability.

Re: Citrix Agent is not detected with VUgen11.04 and Citrix Server 6.5

Thank you Editus for your reply.

We finally installed Citrix Agent which comes with 11.5 and we were able to record a script (sync_on_text functions etc).

Just thought of updating the group, hope this info will help.

But the concern is, we are using PC 11 (Patch 6) and Citrix Agent is 11.52. Assuming Citrix Agent Patch 11.52 is backword compatible with PC 11.

So far it working, not sure if this is the best approach.
