Controller are going to Non-Operation mode frequently

Hi,

We are facing issues with Controllers , they are going to Non-operational moe frequently and when we check in eventlog showing the below error message.

Resource Recovery Task: Fail to recover Host TCESC1WNA013. Reason: Failed to launch controller. Error: Error launching wlrun.exe. Reason: RunProcessWithLogOn: Failed to create process [C:\PCHOST\bin\wlrun.exe] with user[IUSR_METRO] windows error code[183].

PC version: 12.53 Patch 1

When we do reconfigure-host operaiton they are coming up and after some time again going to non-operational

Thanks

Anil

Re: Controller are going to Non-Operation mode frequently

HI Anil,

First please open a support ticket in parallel to this post.

From your description it seems like there is a policy in your domain to prevent local users (IUSR_METRO) from running. When you reconfigure the host I assume IUSR_METRO is being reccreated hence it runs well and then it fails again.

Can you please double check that?

Also, while doing so, please check if after a successful run wlrun.exe has stopped running and when you start a new test make sure IUSR_METRO exists.

Please update on the findings

Regards,

Shlomi

Re: Controller are going to Non-Operation mode frequently

We are facing a similar issue in our 12.55 environment.

We have had to reconfigure our hosts a few times. Then they are operational for a time, maybe a couple of days and then problems arise again with them going non-operational.

To confirm:

IUSR_METRO is in the admins group of each LG/Controller.

It also has the following permissions granted:

- Access this computer from the network

- Allow log on locally

- Create global objects

- Log on as a batch job

- Log on as a service

- Replace a process level token

DEP and UAC are disabled and there is no firewall issue.

This is getting to be deeply frustrating for our end users and ourselves who support the application.

We have opened a case but is there anything else I could possibly check in the mean time?

Re: Controller are going to Non-Operation mode frequently

Hi,

Please note that Controller becomes non-operational only when a load test fails to start on that controller or by manually changing the state to non-operational.
Please open support ticket to further check the issue.

In addition please try to run a test on the problematic controller after changing its state to operatinal either manually or by clicking on reconfigre host.
If the run fails try to add the PC system user to the "Distributed COM Users" group and run the test again.

Eyal

Ok I;ve reconfigued and added the account to the DCOM group. Waiting for end users to re-test.
