HP Performance Center 9.1, 9.5 EoL, latest version and name change

Good afternoon.

I am reseaching some administrative information for the Performance Center product. I am trying to locate the End of Life date, the latest version number and the name changes for the Performance Center software product. Is Performance Center and Loadrunner the same product?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: HP Performance Center 9.1, 9.5 EoL, latest version and name change

LoadRunner and Performance Center are not the same product.  Performance Center is an enterprise performance testing tool that is built on much of the same technology as LoadRunner but it is not the same a LoadRunner.

LoadRunner should be thought of as a tool that is used when companies have the need to run one load test at a time.  Performance Center is used by larger companies who can afford the infrastructure needed to use Performance Center and almost always need to run many load tests simultaneously.

As far as name change goes, LoadRunner has been the name of the workgroup based tool since it was first released and Performance Center was introduced sometime in 2002 or 2003.

The most current version for both LoadRunner and Performance Center is 11.5.  Version 11 is also widely used and should be supported for at least several more years but I don't know officially when version 11 will be made obsolete.
