HP VuGen to HP ALM connection Error: Failure in trying to create Activation Content

Hi,

We are unable to connect to HP ALM from HP VuGen, getting the following error message.

"Failure in trying to create Activation Context"

Steps Followed:

1. Open the VuGen

2. Tools -> Open HP ALM Connection

3. Provide PC link (http://<PCServer>qcbin/) and connect

4. Authenticated by valid credentials

5. Select the domain/project and click on Login

Now we are getting error. If anybody experienced with this kind of issue please let me know the root cause of the issue as well as the solution.

Thanks in Advance,

Subbarao

This is just an idea, but make sure that the Virtual User Generator folder has the security permissions changed to give Full Control write access rights to that folder for your specific user. Your problem could be related to VuGen being unable to write the ALM connection details.

Re: HP VuGen to HP ALM connection Error: Failure in trying to create Activation Content

I experience this issue after installing the client in shared mode.

This is caused by using ALM client in Shared deployment mode.

To fix this issue

- Clear all (Full Cleanup) available ALM client files.

- Verify that there is no content in C:\ProgramData\HP\ALM-Client (C:\documents and settings\All users\HP\ALM-Client).

- Re-download ALM client by login against ALM URL through IE

I hope this helps.
