Installing Load Generator on a Red Hat Linux 6.0

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding installation of Load Generator on a linux server. We are currently setting up Performance Center 11.52 in our ALM.

I am done with installing PC Server, PC host (Controller and Data Processor) in 3 different machines. My 4th box is a Linux server where I need to have the Load Generator setup.

a) Do I have to install PC host first/configure it as Load Generator in Performance Center Or can I directly run the Load Generator Standalone setup file?

b) The setup file I received from HP is an exe file. Do we have a setup file specifically for Linux? Where can I get this?

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Hi Bipin,

In regards to your questions.

a. You have to run the installer for the LG, as Linux machines can only work as LGs.

b. Linux LG installer comes in a separate disc from the Windows installer. Normally these are provided by download link that our Electronic Software Delivery team provides, if you do not have it, you would have to open a ticket with them.

Another Question I have regarding this is

a) What is the difference between installing Standalone Load Generator and installing PC Host / configuring it as Load Generator?

Hello Bipin

The host can work as LG, controller and or data processor, form PC you choose its role, a LG SA is only a LG, they ports the use, the way they communicate and feature you have are different.

hope this clarifies
