Issue with Citrix_ICA/Web multi protocol script done with Vugen 11.52

We have reliability issue with Citrix_ICA/Web multi protocol script done with Vugen 11.52. The script works few iterations and starts failing while connecting to Citrix Server with Error " Got unexpected disconnect event exiting....".

We have added following citrix functions in the script but still the same result.

ctrx_logoff(CTRX_FORCED_LOGOFFCTRX_LAST);
ctrx_disconnect_server("", CTRX_LAST);

We are using Citrix XenApp 6.0 on Windows 2008 R2 Server.  Please let us know the correct settings on the Citrix Server for the script to work consistently.

Sample script uploaded.

Thanks

Mohan

Re: Issue with Citrix_ICA/Web multi protocol script done with Vugen 11.52

There are a number of reasons why this might happen in a load test. The first check is to ensure the script replays reliably with one Vuser. If this fails check the Load Generator(s) are running the Citirx client correctly. If this works the problem is most likely to be caused by the Citrix server rejecting multiple Vuser connections. The following KM documents might help:

You might also want to check the settings on the Sessions tab for the ICA (and RDP) connection in the Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration on the Citrix server.  If you are able to modify these settings, check the overide box and set the disconnected session timeout to 1 minute (lowest it will go) and then set the "when session limit reached" to "End Session".

The session host configuration is also where you can change the setting to allow a user multiple sessions.

I don't know if it was in XenApp 6.0, but in XenApp 6.5 there is a new setting to allow disconnected sessions to "linger", this will cause issues if your script tries to disconnect and then reconnect to Citrix before the session fully terminates.

Re: Issue with Citrix_ICA/Web multi protocol script done with Vugen 11.52

Thanks for your reply. I have requested Citrix Server Admin to modify the settings and let us see if that works. Ours is XenApp 6.0 and I think we still need to use
ctrx_logoff(CTRX_FORCED_LOGOFF, CTRX_LAST);
for the script to work.
