Issues updating HP Performance Centre from 11.50 to 11.52 Patch01

Jump to solution

Hi there, I'm experiencing some issues when upgrading HP Performance Centre 11.50 to 11.52 Patch01.  I've tired both first installing 11.52 (PC_00291) then 11.52 Patch01 (PC_00292), and also just installing 11.52 Patch01 over 11.50 (re query on http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Performance-Center-Support/Performance-Center-Support-Tip-11-52-Patch-1-is-available/td-p/6172355).  I am still not 100% clear which route should be taken re above, but get the same outcome for both patch methods and errors in the HP Performance Center Server Configuration Wizard.

Note this is when installing on Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit), and running the patches from an administrative command prompt and the wizard as Administrator.  Original ISO used for installation (VM).  Note UAC is disabled on the server.

The issue is when adding the Performance Centre server to HP ALM 11.52 Patch02 (or 11.52 Patch01), ALM complains "Performance Center Server is not compatible with this version of ALM.  You can still add it with "Unavailable' state.  This is despite Performance Centre showing version 11.52 as being installed (and visible on the logon page) and in registry.  Once added in unavailable state, then changing to "operational" it does appear to function and I can run performance tests, however the System Health checker shows the performance centre extensions as still being at 11.50.000 and not being compatible with ALM "Version compatibility check failed: HP Performance Center Server 11.52.0.0 Patch01 is not compatible with ALM Lab Extension 11.50.0000".

I noticed there were some errors in the setup configuration wizard, example as below when running 11.52 Patch01 update directly so not sure if this to be expected, but is a concern?  The .EXE files mentioned don't exist under the MSBUILD directory, can these errors be safely ignored?

I am not sure exactly what you have installed  ALM 11.52 Patch 1 should not be what you are installing.  Please install ALM 11.52 Patch 2 (http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00722949) and please note the special warnings regarding Patch 2.

I would strongly suggest that you open a support case and have one of the support engineers assist you with the upgrade.

Hi Craig, thanks for the response, re ALM I had installed ALM 11.52 Patch 02, an error in my above post (it was performance centre 11.52 patch01).  It seems to be the performance centre server which has the issue.  Will open a ticket.
