Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

hi ...

i have a sapgui script that works fine in Vugen on all loadgenerators.

however, when run as a scenario, it fails on all load generators except the controller's "localhiost".

the sapgui script triggers a file import (upload) via ms excel in SapGui.

The file is either not found or not accessible by sapgui or excel during the loadgenerator mode (vuser).

again, the same script works fine in vugen on each of the loadgenerators.

i have tried using a shared drive, i also used "c:\dir12\dir2\filename.csv", :\dir1\dir2\filename.csv", and "filename.csv", in each case excel or sap cannot access the file when run as a scenario.

Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

Did you try double slashes for your path?

Instead of "c:\dir12\dir2\filename.csv"

Use:  "c:\\dir12\\dir2\\filename.csv"

Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

Yes ... of course, already had that in place.

Thanks for thought tho.

as i said, the script works fine in VuGen, on all generators, it is only in load generator mode that the excel process cannot access the file.

Does load generator mdrv have any restrictions in place that might prevent access to a file in the actual "C:\" folder (outside of the .../temp/user/netdir/... path)?

Or does the VUSERs "virtual c: drive" have a known conflict with MS excel?

i am fairly sure that the conflict is based on the mdrv process and excel, or sap...

mdrv using the virtual "C:" drive in the performance center folder hierarchy.

Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

and the other curiousity, it works just fine on the "localhost" generator, and only fails on the other load generators.

again, pointing to the differnece in the mdrv process environment...

and i have used two different machines as controller with the same reasult.

Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

Rats.  Thought it was going to be one of those quick fix "i can't believe I overlooked that" things.

I've uploaded files in my tests, not with that particular protocol.

Hope you find the answer!

Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

yes ... uploads/downloads with http, etc - no issue.

this one is murcky due to SAP and MS excel.

please dont ask why we need to use excel to import a simple text file that should just be parsed manually with code ...

makes no sense to use excel just to read/format the data for 100 lines or less of text...

also caused an problem as we cant license a ms excel / office to run on qwindows server OS image (vm), so i needed dedicated VMs with windows 7 just for this test...

Re: Jan 27-28th , Performance Center Expert day.

opening ticket ...

i am attempting to ABAP support to get the actual ABAP/SAP error message as the message to the sapgui client is meaningless ... "error uploading csv".

yes, it is SAP tcode, customized, that is having the error.

ticket has to be opened by the one guy with ticket rights ...\

once i know what info you require it will be attached to ticket
