Linux Disk IO monitoring with Sitescope

Hello, experts.

I have suspicions that reason for the problems with WebSphere's application performance is a too incentive file operations, like audit logging.

I tied to check it with Sitescope UNIX Resources monitor, but couldn't find any relevant counter, at least list of available counters for "Disk Stats" object is empty.

Are there any other ways to find out Disk IO utilization and its limit for specific system?

Thanks,
Alexander

Re: Linux Disk IO monitoring with Sitescope

You may want to look into HP Performance Monitoring Best Practices guide which comes with LR/PC install of 9.5 SP1 or later and also available at http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM725330/binary/PC9.51_PerfMonitor_BP.pdf?searchIdentifier=34653853%3a12405244c8c%3a-77bd&resultType=document.

There is a chapter on Unix/Linux most important counters including their names in SiteScope.

For more useful information, go to HP Software Community board at http://h30501.www3.hp.com/t5/Best-Practices-and-Methodology/bd-p/APP_Perf_VaL_BP.
