Load Generator Key - Another Big 10 Points

Jump to solution
Currently we have 1 Load Generator with 2000 users. So as to increase performance, we want to create 4 Load Generators each with 500 users.

My question, does each of the four Load Generators need a separate key or will the one key from the current 2000 user Load Generator work?

Load generators dont need a key. All you need to make sure is do you have that many user license.

Say you want to generate 2000 users distributed among 4 load generators then you need 2000 vuser licenses.

Just to add a bit more of clarity to this; the load gens are not lisence. You could have as many load gens as you'd like. you just need to make sure you have a lisence for 2000 vusers pertaining to the vuser time you want to run. E.G. if you need to run 2000 http/html vusers, make sure you have a lisence for 2000 http/html vusers or for the web bandle protocol suite. The lisence is applied in the controller. The controller will stop you from running any load test if you don't have enough lisences.

thanks

Good thing about LoadRunner:

Its only the controller which is licensed.

You can do a custom installation and then install VUGen, Analysis module or load generator.

You can have as many LG's to support the desired load and to avoid memory issues due to high volume of load. (If you have UNIX box, you can sue the same as LG).

Please refer install guide for more details.!

Please excuse me....if this is already clear to you 😉
