Load runner Citrix Recordings

Jump to solution
I am successful recording a citrix business transaction via vugen but after several playbacks my script fails because for some reason the Desktop task bar on the citrix desktop is lowered and my script cannot logoff. Our Ctirix transactions are not stable enough to collect performance metrics for a long period of time, so I created a RDP script via vugen performing the same actions and the task bar is always present and script appears to complete with no problems and very stable. Not sure RDP is the best protocol for measuring application performance from a end user Perspective. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

When you say that the logoff doesnt happen when the taskbar is lowered, I assume that you have done the operations in the citrix app using mouse operations. As a best practice, it is recommended that mouse operations should be avoided as far as possible and the same should be replaced by keyboard operations. In your application you might have an option to logoff using Alt+F and then X, so instead of the mouse operations you can replace it with the keyboard operations such that the failure rate is handled. Try this out and I am sure it would help you overcome the failures as keyboard operations are not screen resolution dependant.
