We would like to automate Loadrunner test process, incorporate into our existing framework. To start with we want to achieve below steps

1. Start controller to run specific scenario with custom test settings
2. Collect run-time results and logs during test
3. Collect results after test from test analysis

Please provide guidelines and references to achieve this.

Re: Loadrunner API

1. Start controller to run specific scenario with custom test settings

- first customize the settings as you like, include the think time in the script so that all the users will be in sleep.
e.g: If u want to start the run after 1 hr, include think time of 60 min in the vuser_init part of the script.
alternate option: you can also use rendezvous point option.

2. Collect run-time results and logs during test

- When u start the controller results and logs will be saved automatically in the results directory(path which u set for saving results. We can always filter the results for the required duration after the run is completed

3. Collect results after test from test analysis

- You can generate analysis file on a click as long as the controller is open after the run is completed, or u can collate them manually from the saved results

Re: Loadrunner API

Thanks Sunkara for your reply

I need some programming tips though

1. To start controller with test parameters, what commands or programming interface to use, Or if it is .NET environment, what objects to use to start, stop, add input parameters to controller
