Loadrunner for client-server applications (not browser based)

I have to load test a java based mobile app having a server component and a client component. Server component is deployed on application server and client runs on a separate machine through some mobile emulators (like ones provided by netbeans, nokia, sun wireless toolkit etc.).
Please let me know how to record a loadrunner script for this case where client is running in an emulator and not browser.

Re: Loadrunner for client-server applications (not browser based)

Hi,

If you are running a mobile application thru mobile emulators, you can use WAP protocol available in LR. Its very much similar to Web (http/html) protocol. The only difference u can notice are

- No run time viewer/test results
- In run time settings u can see a separate tab for WAP where you define the gateway settings.

If you find any other protocol supporting your case, pls share.. 🙂

Thanks,
