Jump to solution
Hi,

from where i can get the Licence information. for specific protocol we have these many users?

________________
here i need some suggestion please:
we are planing to upgrade LR to 9.5 from 8.1
Currenly Controller is installed in one machine(Server)

Can we install the controller 9.5 in a fresh new machine? is it possible?

what im thinking is,before getting the licence we have to give the system Host ID to HP right, for that specific system Host ID only the LR licence is aplicable???
__________
do we need to get new licence for upgrading or Installing 9.5??

Hello Prasad,

1)You can get your existing license information by going to Start> All Programs > LoadRunner > LoadRunner. In the top menu Select Configuration > LoadRunner License to see the protocol you can use and the number of users you are licensed for. you can add a new license key at this place also.

2)If you are planning to install 9.5 on a brand new machine then you need to contact HP to generate the license key for the Host Id of your new machine.

If you are planning to upgrade your existing LR version to 9.5, then you need not have a new license key as the host id continues to remain the same and the existing license key will continue to work with your new version.

3)The license key is host-locked and can be used only on the machine for which the license key was generated.HP would generate the license key based on the Host id of your machine and can be used only on that particular machine.you can also get non-host-locked licenses for which you may need to contact HP which can be used on multiple machines.

Thanks

i got the no.of vusers for each protocol.
____________________

for Ex: i have 100 vusers for HTTP/HTML protocol.

without knowledge, if i assign 150vusers to a script (script created with HTTP/HTML protocol)
then the script will get fail totally?
or
The script will pass upto 100 vusers and give fail result to 50 vusers?

No, if you assign users more than the users that you are licensed for, then, as soon as you click on the run button on your controller it would give a pop-up indicating that your license does not permit you to run so many users.you can try this on your existing controller and see how it happens.

So there is no question of few users running and few users failing. The controller will execute the test only if your license permits you to run those many users.
