Location of data files on Load generators

Jump to solution

Hi ,

Our Load Gen scripts write data out to text (8.dat) files .

When we execute the scenario , these files are created on the load gen. , but after doing a search I am unable to locate the files or data .

Would anyone know where the data files are stored after Scenario is sexecuted in the controller . i dont find them on the local machine aven after we collate results

Thanks

Hi,

Yes I see a folder is created at that location , but the folder does not have any file(s)

Could there be a reason for that ?

Thanks

Sharma,

Did you check this on LG machine?
It should be there on Load Genarator ,also check,
if some one else configured LG on that machine it should be on his folder

C:\Documents and Settings\XYZ_LoginID\Local Settings\Temp,

Thanks

Hi Suleena,

Would you mind sharing the reasons for writing to these files rather than using standard LoadRunner features?

Re: Location of data files on Load generators

This is what I am doing. I have one script that creates users and writes that to a .dat file ( something like a login.dat file). Then another script reads the users of this file and logs in to make edits to the profile .

When I run this on the LR VUGEN dev. environment these files are created in the directory I specify. When run as a Scenario in Loadrunner , the files on my local machine are not updated at all and I was wondering where exactly is this data being populated, .

Sharma,

No need to write on LG, try below code...

long file ;
char filename[500];
sprintf(filename, "c:\\ravi\\xyz.txt");
.
.
.
LR SCRIPT
.
.
.

//End of script close the file

if ((file=fopen(filename,"a"))==NULL)
{
lr_output_message("File has some problem");
return -1;
}
fprintf(file,"%s\n",lr_eval_string("{Your_Variable}"));
fclose(file);

Thnaks
