PC 12.20 not picking up modified scripts after saving

Have a script which had been referenced in a scenario which was then executed. At a later point in time, the script was modified and saved back up to the repository. Subsequent scenario executions seemed to indicate the new script wasn't doing what it should be. Found the "View Script" button on the "Edit Test" page and discovered that it was not displaying the newer script.

How are changes to scripts supposed to be picked up by existing scenarios? [witholding editorial comments for the moment]

Re: PC 12.20 not picking up modified scripts after saving

Hello payochi1,

Please verify that the user that you are using at the time to change some settings, have the correct permissions to perform this action.

On the other hand, If a script was uploaded using VuGen to a version control enabled project, it is not immediately checked-in, so a checked-in version of it does not yet exist.

What this means is that the script is uploaded to ALM but the version control settings will not work immediately, but just some minutes after.

Re: PC 12.20 not picking up modified scripts after saving

Hi Daniela,

The user has full permissions for this project in PC. That same user is also a project admin.

The project is not using any version control.

Re: PC 12.20 not picking up modified scripts after saving

, how do you upload a modified script to Performance Center?

Do you 1) upload a .zip file or 2) connect VuGen to ALM and directly update your script?

It seems to me that option 1) is not 100% reliable and you can change a script name as a workaround for this issue.

Re: PC 12.20 not picking up modified scripts after saving

Yurym,

Uploading a zip file is a hassle and is not used by anyone on my team.

We always connect Vugen to ALM and upload our scripts that way.

Also if we change the script name, then we will have to change the scenarios as well.
