PC test execution fails at initialization step

You may encounter the following error while execution of the load test in Performance Center 12.01. The below error occurs at the time of test initialization:

 

“Failed to stop test. Reason: 'There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/CntrlService/Service that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. The pipe endpoint 'net.pipe://localhost/CntrlService/Service' could not be found on your local machine”

 

You can find the following error from the PC Server log in Debug mode:  

 

ERROR HP.PC.Online.Data.Providers.DashboardDataProvider - Run XXX is inactive. Marking the LT as RunFailiure ONLY IN THE UI -> Because RunIsNotActiveException was thrown. The orphan run task will change the state in the DB [Context: bbXXX-Xa0c-4bXX-XdXX-XXXXXX] [FullContext: QCServer:http://xxxxx:8080/qcbin UserName:_pc_system_ Domain:XXXX Project:XX_XXX_001] HP.PC.LT.Model.Exceptions.RunIsNotActiveException: The run with id: XXX is not active, controller is down=True

 

This issue is with specific project after migration from the old version.

 

You can resolve this issue by executing the below query in the Site Admin for lab project. The following query helps to clear the project options for the problematic project in Lab project database.

 

UPDATE LAB_PROJECT_PROPERTIES SET PRJP_TOOLS_OPTIONS=NULL WHERE PRJP_PROJECT_ID=XX
