Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

Hi,

I am running scripts from Vugen and when I run them this way the web_reg_save_param does not have any problem registering the parameter. However, when I run these scritps via the controller with multiple users it is not registering the parameter for all iterations and all uerse. There is no particular pattern, i.e. same users getting the error etc.

In terms of debugging, is there any way I can see what is being returned from the server when the error occurs? Otherwise is there a good debugging approach to this?

I am new enough to Loadrunner so would be very helpful to get some assistance on this.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

Wich version of LoadRuner are you using ?

Do you use the functiun web_set_max_html_param_len() ?

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

I have just tried with adding the following:

web_cache_cleanup();

web_set_max_html_param_len("1024");

at the start of my scripts and it worked.

Thank you so much!

Something so simple and yet very effective! 🙂

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

you can add more than '1024' to this functiun.

Personnally I always fix this value to 102400.

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

great thanks.

Any reason why it works this way in the controller and not in vugen?

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

Hi again,

I initially thought that this had worked, however, I am still getting the same errors occuring. I thought it may have been load in conjunction with think time etc but it is not clear what the issue is.

Is there a way of debugging what is being sent back from the server during execution of a scenario in the controller? The scripts do no fail when they are being execution one at a time in vugen.

Thanks again 🙂

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

Is there any assigment to ip adresses on the script, that would be the case.

Re: Parameters - correlation Vugen vs Controller

Did you try to increase your max length from 1024 to something larger?

If you have any viewstates, they'll undoubtedly surpass this threshhold.

If you want to see the results returned from the server, enable extended logging and select "data returned by server."
