Performance Center 12.57 upgrade

Jump to solution

Hi,

we would like to upgrade to Performance Center v12.57 from v12.55.

Is this a patch upgrade?

Do I need to move to 12.56 first and then to 12.57?

Does anyone have a link to where I can get the 12.57 download files and ReadMe?

Hi,

12.57 was delivered as patch on top of 12.55. It is recommended to use patch installation feature for PC Hosts and Standalone LGs from Performance Center admin.

12.57 contains 12.56 content as well. No need to install 12.56 first.

Hi,

There is no change in RDP agent between 12.55 and 12.57. No need to change it,.
Did you experience any issue?

Hi Shlomi,

no it was an end user mistake in the end so we are all good.

Two last questions if you don't mind concerning the ALM component of our system. Our PC servers and all LG's are now 12.57. Our ALM servers are still 12.55 however.

1. Should we also plan to bring ALM to 12.57 (if indeed ALM 12.57 is currently released?)

2. Will the ugrade to ALM 12.57 be a big task, or will it be  much like the PC server and LG upgrade and just a simple patch?

Hi,

1. Should we also plan to bring ALM to 12.57 (if indeed ALM 12.57 is currently released?)

It is not mandatory. We wanted to ease the upgrade procedure as much as possible. There are some benefits if you do upgrade it to 12.55 patch 2 (which is the recommended ALM version for 12.57) as we introduced a few more data types to be included in PC Trend Report and solved a few defects in Cloud integration.

2. Will the ugrade to ALM 12.57 be a big task, or will it be  much like the PC server and LG upgrade and just a simple patch?

The upgrade to ALM 12.55 patch 2 is a relatively easy task. It does not involve database upgrade. ALM does not have patch installers, so each installation contains the full product. All you need to do is uninstall the current server and install ALM 12.55 patch 2 instead.

Feel free to raise as many questions as you need. I hope it will serve other users as well.

Shlomi

Re: Performance Center 12.57 upgrade

One more for you Shlomi if you don't mind.

Our end users have installed Vugen 12.57 and LR Analysis 12.57 on their VDI machines. When they tried to install the LR Truclient patch (LRTC_00018.exe) file from their VDI’s ‘C’ drive, we are getting the below error. Please let us know how to install this patch.

"This patch cannot be installed because the required HP Software component is not installed. Please install the correct patch"

Do they perhaps need to install LR Truclient patch 12.56 first before they can install 12.57 patch?

Hi,

LRTC_00018 is applicable for TruClient standalone installation type. You do not need to install it on a machine that has Analysis Standalone and VuGen standalone patch already includes the TruClient content.

It sounds like since you use VuGen SA only you can ignore the TC patch, you are covered by VuGen patch.
