Re: Server Time to first buffer?

It is the raw time from the point that the Web Server gets an ACK to the time the client receives the response, and can be broken up by network and server time (from the LR Analysis user guide):

"Network time is defined as the average amount of time that passes from the
moment the first HTTP request is sent until receipt of ACK.
Server time is defined as the average amount of time that passes from the
receipt of ACK of the initial HTTP request (usually GET) until the first buffer
is successfully received back from the Web server."

This is a tighter view than Page Download Time, which includes other overhead required to fulfill a web request:

"The Page Download Time Breakdown graph breaks down each component
by DNS resolution time, connection time, time to first buffer, SSL
handshaking time, receive time, FTP authentication time, client time, and
error time."

Re: Server Time to first buffer?

Mr Lars
Is there some documentation which can help us understand the reports in a better way? I am new to BAC and I want to understand what value does "breakdown over time" report provide, how to interpret. Is there a document or anything that I can read to understand the reports in details?

Thanks

Re: Server Time to first buffer?

One more question guys-
Does agent machine performance have an impact on the user experience monitoring from a site. The scenario is that we have synthetic transactions implemented from various user locations but only one site is showing very high avg transaction response times. When I reached out to that site, they reported that the real user transactions were consistent with what the other sites were reporting. I am not sure what the cause is but just wanted to confirm if the agent machine performance can skew the response times?
Any help is very appreciated.
