Testing WCF web services using LR

Hi,
I am very new to LR and web services. I am doing testing for a WCF web service. Here are the list of issues that I am facing.
1) When I include my web services for the "Manage Services" tab it doesn't show any operations.
2) If the use the "Import SOAP" tab and use the request file, it gives the following error
Action.c(5): Error: HTTP status code 415 returned by the server
Action.c(5): Error: SOAP request "SOAP Request" execution failed

Here are the details
LR version 9.10
Using Web services protocal

Request File
=======

1000
Comp

=======

Code that is displayed after importing the SOAP file
=======
Action()
{

soap_request("StepName=SOAP Request",
"URL=http://compserver.com/CompMaster.svc",
"SOAPEnvelope="
""
""
"1000"
"Comp"
"
",
"SOAPAction=GetCompByID ",
"ResponseParam=response",
"Snapshot=t1253289183.inf",
LAST);

return 0;
}
=======

Any help will be great for me and thanks in advance

Thanks
Anish

Re: Testing WCF web services using LR

I would suggest to get the WSDL file from your developers and import it in Vugen. Then include the required calls.

Re: Testing WCF web services using LR

> Open a new Web Services script
> Click on Manage Services
> Import
>Browse the WSDL file located in the file system or URL or other location.
>Click on Import

>Click on Add Service Call
>Select the Operation in your service.
>Input the arguments.
> Click on OK.

You can see a Web_service_call in your script automatically generated corresponding to service you selected.

Replay the script.

****Done****

NB: You many encounter errors during importing wsdl or during replay. Please take care of those.

Re: Testing WCF web services using LR

Hi,
I am facing the problem in the select operation part after the add service call. When I go there, no operations are listed.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Testing WCF web services using LR

Your WSDL seems to be invalid. Also, I'm not able to import properly. I received few errors.

Re: Testing WCF web services using LR

Hi Anish,

Please reach out to dev team asking for valid WSDL.
Once you get fresh WSDL you can check its validity with some tools like XML ALTOVA (XML SPY) you can download its trial version it will be valid for 30 days.

Thank you,
Champ
