Unable to get IE10 (Win7, 64-bit) to work with Performance Center v12

Jump to solution

Our site upgraded to Performance Center v12.

The only users who are able to use it are those whose Win7 PC's still have IE8.  Those who have upgraded to IE10 have a variety of errors, ranging from shift-click not working in PerfCenter, to random buttons in PerfCenter being disabled (grey'd out).

The IE10 users have tried activating the "Tools | Compatibility View", but that doesn't help much.

Downgrading (IE10 to IE8) is very dangerous - numerous problems have been reported - and is thus not a viable option.

Running IE8 in a VM (Virtual Machine) has been tried, but without success -- it works with (other) http and https websites, but is unable to connect to PerfCenter v12's https site.

Is there a patch for PerformanceCenter v12 to make it compatible with IE10?

Thanks in advance!

Can you provide some additional detail on what you mean when you say it doesn't work?

Are you getting an error?

Are you using 32bit version of IE or the 64bit (64bit IE is not supported by any version of PC)

Are you having problem with the ALM client access or access to My Performance Center?  If ALM client, have you placed the URL for the ALM server in the trusted sites list and reduced the security to the lowest level possible for trusted sights?

Do you have other toolbars and add-in for IE that you can disable to see if they are interfering with the .net client?

If you go to the site http://www.hp.com/go/TDQC_SysReq you will see that for the ALM client the 32bit IE 10 is supported from 12.00 so no patches or anything else should be required to make it work.  At the top of that page you can click on the link to take you to the Performance Center 12 requirements and you can see that both IE 8, 9, and 10 are supported (IE 11 is supported with PC 12.01) so if you are still having problems I would suggest opening a case with HP Support and have an engineer assist you.
