Uninstalling Perfromance Center 11.5 Host destroys server

In preparation for upgrading to 12.2, we need to uninstall 11.52 (patch 3) from our Windows 2008r2 servers.

Uninstalling the Host version that we had our controllers configured as completely destroys windows ability to function.

After unstialling from Add/Remove programs Windows no longer knows how to launch .exe files.

Is there a safe way to remove the 11.50/52 version of PC/LR host that anyone knows?  I'm not seeing it in the documentation, but maybe I'm not using the right keywords in my searches.

It seems like the .exe association is corrupted, you may try to fix this following below link.
