or should we wait for 12.00 release.

Thanks

Re: Upgrade to 11.52 from 11.50 or wait for 12.00

Hello ,

Upgraded process from 11.50 to 11.52 it just need to install Sp2 on top of your installation PC and ALM . If you need to use Vugen 11.52 features , i'd recommend to go ahead for it . Even you can install patch 1 ( latest PC Patch )

Re: Upgrade to 11.52 from 11.50 or wait for 12.00

Hi,

As mentioned by Manu, the version 11.52 is a Service Pack and can be installed directly on top of 11.50.

Version 12 will be a new major version and will require a new installation. The exact details will be available only on its release.

It is correct that the version 11.52 has brought improvements over 11.50 and we recommend upgrading to our latest version.

For your convenience, I'm pasting the links to the patches for LoadRunner and the standalone applications:

Analysis SA Service Pack 11.52

After the installation of the Service Pack 11.52, you will be able to apply the optional 11.52 Patch 1.

Here are the links to the patch release last August:

Analysis SA 11.52 Patch 1

The exact release date of LoadRunner 12 has not yet announced, but you can upgrade and benefit now from the added features of LoadRunner 11.52 and LoadRunner 11.52 Patch 1.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi,

I'm adding the links to the Performance Center patches too below:

Re: Upgrade to 11.52 from 11.50 or wait for 12.00

Hello

Besides of the previous post, I would like to point that there is no final ETA for version 12, and patches are mandatory, patches will be a minor change in terms of down time while version 12 as any major upgrade will be a lot more complex process and the time down for your PC environment will be much more.

hope this helps

Re: Upgrade to 11.52 from 11.50 or wait for 12.00

If you are on 11.50, definitely get to 11.52 Patch1. Too many issues with 11.50 to stay with the vanilla install. When 12 comes out, set up a parallel environment and migrate to it.

Re: Upgrade to 11.52 from 11.50 or wait for 12.00

Since this is posted in the Performance Center area I think it is safe to assume that you are working with Performance Center and not LoadRunner.

With this weeks recent release of ALM 11.52 Patch 2 there are some special considerations that you should take into account before you jump to installing PC 11.52 Patch 1 (because PC is completely dependent on ALM, changes there have a direct affect on PC).

If you are currently at PC 11.5 and are going to upgrade to PC 11.52 Patch 1, you need to download and install ALM 11.52 Patch 2 (do not install ALM patch 1).

To do this successfully you will also need to first download and install ALM 11.52 with SP2 from the My Updates section of the software support site (the name of this file is ALM_11.50_Windows_TC096-15018.ISO).

Depending on exactly what you have installed already and your OS for ALM you may need to perform an Un-install of ALM 11.50 version.  Please verify by carefully reading the warning that are part of the ALM 11.52 Patch 2 download.

If you proceed to install ALM 11.5 Patch 1 and later want to go to ALM 11.5 Patch 2 you will have to un-install ALM and then install the 11.52 SP2 and then Patch 2 so, since you are upgrading anyway go directly to ALM 11.5 SP2 with Patch 2.

Currently there is no PC 11.52 Patch 2 so you will have differences between your ALM and your PCS and Host installations.  No word yet if you will have to un-install PC 11.52 Patch 1 before installing 11.52 Patch 2, time will tell.

I would strongly suggest that you open a support case requesting assistance on understanding the proper upgrade path to reduce the amount of un-installing and re-installing that you have to do.

Also, since PC 12 is not released and no release date for it has been announced we have no knowledge of how complex the upgrade path will be to go from base 11.50 to 12 or if that will even be possible.
