What is a PAL (Performance Application Lifecycle) package?

A PAL (Performance Application Lifecycle) package contains data collected from monitoring production data. The data is used in creating PAL reports.


PAL enables development and operations to collaborate around load testing. Using PAL, production system data can be used to create load tests that resemble production behavior, and testing assets, such as scripts, can be leveraged for production monitoring.
One can compare performance test results to real production data gathered from HP Application Performance Monitoring products, Google Analytics, WebTrends, and IIS logs. This allows for tuning your performance test scenarios closer to reality, reducing test assumptions and risks.


A PAL package is a ZIP archive which contains two textual files.
