Where do need to keep the data file on LG(s) which is accessed by multiple scripts?

Jump to solution
Hi Guys,

Let's say multiple scripts access the User.csv data file.
Vusers : 1000
Scripts : Multiple Scripts
LG(s) : 5
Data file : User.csv
Where do need to keep the data file on LG(s) which is accessed by multiple scripts?

In this case User.csv(Usernames & Passwords)

Thanks,
Raj

You can keep the data file in an ftp location to access the same for all your scripts. Make sure that your LG machines has access to the ftp location where the param file is located. You can also save the param file in your LG machine in order to access it. This is a long process as you need to split the param file into pieces and save in the corresponding LG machine and the LG picks the data from its own location. I prefer go with choosing an ftp location where the LGs has access to that location.

Steps to create the same parameter list in other scripts:

Assuming:
Script A - Main script with parameters created
Script B - Script to inherit all the parameters that script A has

1. Copy the .prm file from the script directory of script A to script B.
2. Go to the main script directory of script B:

Open the <ScriptName>.usr file in Notepad.
Search for the [General] section.
Edit "ParameterFile=" to include the information of the .prm file.
Example:
ParameterFile=.prm

Save and close the .usr file.
3. Ignore this step if the parameter files are not local to the script directory. Otherwise, copy all the parameters' .dat files from script A to script B.
