loadrunner script recording issue with oracle EBS R12

Hi,

   I am trying to record scripts for oracle EBS app using protocols oracle NCA and web as multi protocol.   The web events are recorded properly. But the moment oracle forms getting launched, no events are recorded and in the recording log i see failed to connect to server. None of the NCA events are getting logged.

 

Pasting the recording error log below.

I have tried adding record and play entries to ICX forms launcher and also tried mapping network port mapping. Even tried using oracle applications 11i protocol. But same error is being occuring.

 

Could some one please help to identify the issue. Have tried searching a lot but could not get a proper solution.

 

 

I am using VuGen 11 version

 

I have tried the winsockkey2 solution mentioned in http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM784683.

 

attached my winsock protocol info.

 

But still the same issue.

Lets try this.

 

Records 2 scripts, 1 web + nca, and 1 nca only, and attach them here.

 

I will check the recording logs. But if others on the same network have no issue recording and after reinstalling still does not work, there may be something on your machine that might be causing this.

 

Check for add ons on the browser, firewalls, or something similar.  What is your OS? and have you disabled DEP?

Hi Ronz,

 

Can you let us know what version of Vugen you are using to record? Any firewalls or antivirus? If you have McAfee, you should disable McAfee HIPs. Are you using an Admin account?

Hi Mario,
I am using Vugen 11. And yes mcafee is present. But there is no HIP enabled. My machine has proxy and have admin access.

If you have 11.0 try moving up to 11.4 (http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM1338152).

If you can disable McAfee try doing so.

And if you have port mapping entries, delete them. And create one that leaves everything default except Record Type, change it to direct.

Hi Mario,

    Cannot accees the above link.

 

Have tried adding default port entry with record type as Direct. The application did not launch and hence had to change back to proxy.

 

I cannot disable mcafee in the system unfortunately.

Is this issue limited to this machine, do you have access to other machines? We would like to know if the issue is limited to your machine or if it i something in your network. If it was limited to your machine we should try the patch or reinstalling vugen.

Hi Mario,

   Have installed the patch and seeing many new issues.   After the first restart VuGen started hanging everytime i start recording.  This issue is gone with another restart.

 

Now while recording, i can see some events in the recording logs in between the "failed connected to server"  error messages.  And Vugen shows "stopped working" while generating scripts but still managed to generate scripts.

 

Even now there are no NCA events in the scripts. So bottom line issue remains the same.   

 

And have tried with stopping the McAfee AV too.

 

To answer your previous question: Yes, this is working fine with one of my collegues  machine.

 

Any suggestions ?

Reinstall Vugen then. This would be the best way to go. You do not need to reinstall the patch, just make sure its done with an admin account. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Mario,

   Still no luck tried reinstalling VuGen. And had to install the patch again as the version showed 11.00.

 

Please le me know if you want to have a look at any of the logs/traces which could help.
