what does Detected non-resource indicate

When replaying some web http/html scripts I have noticed the following message in the Replay Log "Detected non-resource". What is the explanation for this and does it affect performance?

html, xml, are parsed resources.
jpg, gif, png, jss, css etc. are resources.
Non-resources are pdf, txt, or some odd extension. These are called by the host web page to be downloaded to the browser. If the log says downloaded or something similar. Then everything is OK. It is behaving like a browser would.

You can add remove extensions to the resource list to effect parsing. Parsing is used for text checks or dynamic parms.

But it is great you are looking at the replay log. Ton of info.
