Getting Authentication Error while opening a pdf file using Web Protocol

Hi,

I am using HTTP Web protocol and the application is trying to open a pdf file that gives options to "Open", "Save", and "Cancel". I am getting this error on that step "Authentication required, please use web_set_user, e.g. web_set_user("domain\\user", "password", "host:port");". I tried the web_set_user , but it doesn't help. Can you please give me any suggestions to get rid of this error ?

Thanks,

Re: Getting Authentication Error while opening a pdf file using Web Protocol

Hello,

What messaged did you get after adding web_set_user()?

If you get same message as "Authentication required, ..." that means the web_set_user actually not applied.

Please check that the host:port parameter match the Host header in your request.

If you got http 401 error,  that means the user setting applied by authentication failed.

Then if you are sure that the username and password is correct, please enable extended log and replay, check the

“WWW-Authenticate:” header in server’s first response, the supported Authorization methods are BASIC, NTLM, Kerberos, Negotiate,

If it’s supported method, you can check the Run Time Settings at Internet Protocol->Preferences->Authentication.

Some server may need special configurations to make the authentication work.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the steps you mentioned, but there is no such header "www-header" in the server response. Can you suggest some other option, please?
