How to insert wait for an object in Loadrunner Web HTTP/HTML scripts

I have a script where it should wait for certain objects in the web page to proceed with the next transactions. How do I insert  the wait for object step (like in Truclient scripts)  in Web HTTP/HTML scripts.

Re: How to insert wait for an object in Loadrunner Web HTTP/HTML scripts

Hi,

you can see the response of a particular function captured by Web HTTP-HTML with "Snaphot" layout. In this frame, you can insert some controls about the response received by the server. The response can be viewed in "Http Data", so in low level language, or "Page View", when LoadRunner succedeed to catch CSS or HTML objects on the web page of the navigation.

In both ways, if you insert a control in a particular string (for example, the title on a button), that can be consider as a simulation of a "Wait for Object" in this protocol.

Hope this can help you,

Lorenzo

Re: How to insert wait for an object in Loadrunner Web HTTP/HTML scripts

Hi @PerformanceTester1, in addition to the remark of @lb1, it is good to realize that there is a difference in execution between Web HTTP/HTML protocol and TruClient. Web does only look to the interaction with the web-services and is not aware of the document state (the view you see in your browser). A Web script does not have any (except for concurrent loading of resources in URL-mode) notion on concurrency. When your original page loads various parts concurrently via Ajax like calling XMLHttpRequest() and updating the DOM via java script, your recording will take one order of those calls and waits for them one after the other. So with Web protocol you serialize your requests (except for resources like css, pictures etc).

It is good to realize this.

Thank you . It was useful.
The page for which I need the logic appears as a series of jobs to be picked up from the queue. The script needs to be designed in a way that it executes the consequent transaction after the job appears after random time in the page.
