IBM Worklight Server Performance testing - Authentication Issue

Hi,

We are required to test application involving IBM Worklight Server. We have recorded simple login script where user launches the application, logs in to the application and then logs out of the application. Issue is we are facing authentication error and HTTP Status 404 not found error on login request.

Going through some reference document, we have found that as part of authentication mechanism fo the Worklight server, there is a initialization done which generates a init request. And in the  response of this request there is a dynamic id called 'WL Instance ID' which we need to capture and pass in header of all the subsequent requests.

In our case, loadrunner script have generated 'web_add_auto_header' function for 'WL-Instance-Id'. But init request is missing from where we need to correlate this ID and pass to the below request,

web_add_auto_header("WL-Instance-Id", "dc216289bg30c3hmkbdin79kid");.

What we think is it's a technical issue with authentication mechanism and init request is missing network traffic capture.

Is there any workaround or solution to this issue. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rahul

Re: IBM Worklight Server Performance testing - Authentication Issue

Hello,
Is this initialization client-side code (like JavaScript)? If so, VUGen will not be able to capture it with correlation. Such values need to come as part of a Server Response in order to be captured. Otherwise, users can add the necessary custom code to generate such value on the fly.

If further assistance is required, you might want to open a new case with Support and provide the resulting script for reviewing.

Re: IBM Worklight Server Performance testing - Authentication Issue

Hi HP Support,

Thank you for the valuable reply. I will check with development team on this and also check for some custom code to overcome the issue.

Thanks,

Rahul
