Issues with creating loadrunner scripts on iOS

Jump to solution

Ok. I have been facing this challenge for a few weeks now. I am trying to create loadrunner scripts on an app which was only developed on iOS. My approach has been the proxy server recording but I have not been successful with that primarily because:

1) In order to use any wireless network, there is an internal proxy server all requests must go through to access the app. The dilemma here is in order to allow LR generate the scripts, I must also go through the loadrunner proxy so we are talking about 2 proxies here. Is it possible to have that kind of set up ?

2)A second option was to try the cellular network which on its own logs in successfully to the app without a proxy. I tried using apple configurator to create a custom profile (pointing to the loadrunner proxy server) but I am not able to log on to app. Something tells me I'm missing a step here.

I'm just trying to get LR12 to communicate with this app on iOS. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

To make LR proxy and iOS device communicate try to install proxy certificate on you device. To do this:

1. Start LR proxy recording.

2. On iOS devise set LR machine as proxy.

3. From iOS device browser go to link: http://<LR_machine_IP>:8888/proxyroot.cer and accept certificate.

Mikhail
