[LR 12.55 TC Win7] Error sending scripts from controller to load generators -> How to diagnose/fix?

After upgrading from LR 12.53 P4 we have issues with the controller transfering some of our TC scripts to some of our load generators.

ErrorSendingFiles.png

The following error messages are shown in controller output view:

  • Error: The user files were not transferred to the local load generator
    • One or more of the script's files have illegal names.  It is possible that two files are using the same name and directory.

Now we're wondering how to diagnose and fix this issue. Is there any log file on the controller or load generator we can check?

Is this somehow related to the information listed in "ScriptUploadMetadata.xml"?

Interestingly the corresponding scripts can by transfered manually by using the context menu "Run Vusers".

Cheers,

Thomas

Re: [LR 12.55 TC Win7] Error sending scripts from controller to load generators -> How to diagnos

Good day Thomas,

Could you please try some actions as below?

-Change the script name to short name, avoid the special character.
-Change the scrit path to short path.
-Please check the LG machine - 849 has the same version/patch with COntroller machine.
-Please check the default TEMP and TMP directories in Controller and LG machine then change it to the short path. You can refer this link:

Re: [LR 12.55 TC Win7] Error sending scripts from controller to load generators -> How to diagnos

Thanx for the hints.

In our case it seems that Windows case-insensitive filesystem is the culprit: The script path exists multiple times due to differences in case "LoadRunner" vs. "Loadrunner". Here the controllers Windows user profile was used on different machines where the script path uses different case.

Btw. where are these script paths stored (within the windows user profile)?

Ok, the duplicate entries in the list of script paths are not the culprit. Cleaning the list doesn't help:

Is there any chance to get a detailed log from the failed file transfer?
How about the controllers "Expert Mode" options for "Debug Information"?
