Large difference in the Response timings of the script execution and chrome dev tool

The response times got through Truclient script execution with 1user for 10 iteration was differed a lot from the response time that was got from manual execution of the same scenario using chrome dev tools.

Both were tested on same machine with same network conditions. But still there was a lot of differences in the response times.

Please anyone can share your ideas regarding this issue

Re: Large difference in the Response timings of the script execution and chrome dev tool

Hi

Can you check your script's Run Time Settings in Vugen if you have "Simulate new user on each iteration" checked or un-checked?

Thanks,

Lior

Hi AvniLior,

Thanks for your reply.

"Simulate new user on each iteration" option was unchecked.

Re: Large difference in the Response timings of the script execution and chrome dev tool

Hi

Another question - how large a difference are you seeing? from what you showed, TruClient measures about 5 seconds per each iteration for that transaction.  does the script contain a login action? is it in a seperate action, or are all in the main action?

I don't think that comparing between TruClient and Chrome dev tools is the same as the script may act differently based on run logic.

Thanks,

Lior

Re: Large difference in the Response timings of the script execution and chrome dev tool

Hi AvniLior,

I have provided only sample of the test run and in the test we have few transactions whose response time reported with 15 seconds in script execution and only 2 seconds was reported in Chrome dev tool.

We are putting login part in init logic and rest of the scenario functionality in Action logic and logout part in vuser_end logic.

Re: Large difference in the Response timings of the script execution and chrome dev tool

Hi Vejjunaidu

15 seconds Vs 2 seconds indicates that something in the comparison is not the same.

it can be caching issues, run logic issues, an additional run time setting element that is checked and more.

In a TruClient script, I'd recommend to have the login and logout actions within the same main action (As apposed to when working with web (HTTP / HTML) protocol due to the technology used in both protocols.

Hope this helps,

Lior
