Load Generators @ Different Locations giving different response time for same scenario

We have executed load test with London location load generator and another load test with Singapore Location load generator. In result, response time time is high in Singapore. While analyzing, the connection time, time to first buffer, receive  time and error time are high in Singapore location load test. What could be the reason for this difference in response time for different geographic load generators?

Re: Load Generators @ Different Locations giving different response time for same scenario

Hi Kri_Kri,

The geographical location is the reason why you are seeing the differnece in response time.

I'm assuming your Application Under Test is located further away from Singapore than it is from London. The Load Generators execute the script from their geographical location and you see the corresponding times from each location.

This is actually the best thing that can happen during a load test, as it shows you the real behaviour that a user, accessing the Application from Singapore or London, will experience.

Hope this helps,

Thanks,

Lior

Thanks Lior for reply

But I have checked the bandwidth in both Load Gen. In singapore download speed is @10Mbps and in London download speed is @ 90Mbps. Is that could be the one of reason or anything else?

Re: Load Generators @ Different Locations giving different response time for same scenario

Hi Kri_Kri,

This is exactly why. the network in your London LG is far better than in your Singapore LG - explaining why you are seeing better response times in London than in Singapore.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck,

Lior
