Load Runner not invoking Internet Explorer

Hi Guys,

I'm using Load Runner11 on a windows 7 machine. Whenever I try to record a script, the load runner fails to invoke IE(8).

I have QTP11 installed on my machine. Uninstalling QTP does the job but I need it as well.

I have tried disabling DEP and I cant use firefox. Please HELP!!

Thanks

Hi,

Please review the following document which expalins the order in which LoadRunner and QTP should be installed.

http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM1158833

During working with your version of VuGen use account with full administrative rights. Please disable Data Execution prevention (KM1220841), User Account Control (KM00598473) and antivirus or hooking software running on your machine as they may prevent the proper work of  VuGen.

Kind regards,

HPE Support

The link http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM1158833 says access denied when clicked on.

I tried disabling data execution prevention and that did not work.

I m caught using two machines for QTP and load runner.

Hi,

You should add valid Support Contract to HP Passport to be able to view the knowledge documents. You can find more instructions here: Adding valid Support Contract to HP Passport.pdf

It you are still not able to open the KM, try restarting your browser.

The KM says that the sequence of installation should be:

1. LR and all LR patches

2.QTP and all QTP patches

You can try by clean uninstall of both LoadRunner and QC and installing them both in the correct order. You can find instructions in the following knowledge documents:

1. How to uninstall LoadRunner before updating to a newer version.

http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM626931

2. How to perform a clean uninstall of QuickTest Professional (QTP)?

http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM171368

3. How to clean uninstall Unified Functional Testing (UFT)?

http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00319750

If this does not help, the issue will need more detailed investigation and I would suggest you to open a case with support.

Kind regards,

Vesela
